Pentax Chops $100 Off K-5 d-SLR Price

Thursday that it has cut $100 off the suggested retail price of its K-5 d-SLR,
bring the new price to $1,500 for the body only or $1,650 for the body and
18-55mm lens kit.

In addition, from now until Nov. 30, 2011, a $300 instant rebate
is in effect on any qualifying purchase of either configuration. The combined
savings brings the K-5 to $1,200 (body only) and $1,350 (for K-5 lens kit w DA
18-55 WR lens).

Pentax said its instant rebate programs offer several consumer
advantages, including no need to submit or track claims or wait several weeks
for a rebate check.

The K-5 features a 16.3 megapixel CMOS sensor with integrated AD
conversion circuitry, 80-51,200 ISO range with improved noise performance.

It shoots up to 7 fps and has an 11 point SAFOX IX+ autofocus
system with dedicated AF assist lamp and light wavelength sensor.

The camera also records 1080p HD video at 25fps and stereo audio
via a built-in mic or a stereo mic jack. It also offers a 921,000 dot 3-inch
LCD and is fully weather sealed and cold proof.
