PCD Launches Pantech Messaging Phone


New Orleans - Personal Communications Devices (PCD) unveiled the Pantech Verse TXT8045 messaging phone at CTIA Wireless 2012.

The 2G phone with slide-down QWERTY keyboard will be available on the U.S. Cellular network beginning May 11 at $29.99 after $50 mail-in rebate.

PCD is also showcasing other products that it recently shipped, including the Virgin Mobile Venture Android smartphone, the Verizon Wireless HomeFusion Broadband LTE wireless-broadband system for homes and Netgear's 4G Mobile Broadband router.

The Pantech Verse features vertical slider QWERTY keyboard, 2.4-inch QVGA display, 2-megapixel camera/camcorder, music player, external speaker, stereo Bluetooth, MicroSD slot supporting 32GB cards, and no Wi-Fi. Talk time is up to 4.8 hours, and standby time is 15 days.

PCD of Hauppauge, N.Y., provides distribution and marketing services for handset suppliers, conducts product planning and development for devices, and provides technical testing quality control for handset suppliers.
