PARA To Co-Locate With EHX;CEA’s Moyer To Head Group

Arlington, Va. – The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), in a dual announcement, has named its first executive director of PARA since taking it over two years ago, CEA veteran Kerry Moyer, and announced that PARA’s annual Management Conference will be co-located with Electronic House Expo EHX Spring in 2007.

Moyer said that PARA’s event will be held March 7-10 at The Peabody Hotel in Orlando co-located with the show. Dealers can attend the premiere educational programming at the PARA Conference, and also participate in the education, networking and business exchange with custom electronics professionals at EHX.

“March is a good timing for dealers. Co-locating with EHX, the number one fastest growing custom electronics trade shows, makes sense. It’s the direction the market is headed, where we see strong growth. Plus, there’s the opportunity to develop synergies between PARA dealers and CEA TechHome integrators,” said Moyer.

Concerning Moyer’s appointment to head PARA, Gary Yacoubian, president/COO of MyerEmco Audio Video and CEA’s PARA chairman said, “I am excited to have Kerry’s experience and leadership on the team. He brings understanding and invaluable knowledge to PARA members. CEA offers what no other association offers to its members. They don’t just represent one segment of the industry.”

Moyer, who is also senior director of strategic relationships, has been with CEA for 11 years and played a key role in the PARA merger with CEA. Before joining CEA, Moyer served as advertising and promotions VP at Audio Associates, a Washington, D.C. area specialty dealer providing installation, sales and service for the home and car.

PARA is home to more than 250 professional audio, video, home theater and custom electronics specialty dealers, who plan, design, demonstrate and install home entertainment systems. PARA provides education and information sharing opportunities for the specialty audio-video dealer community.

Moyer noted, “PARA will remain the home for specialty dealers and installers. As a management resource, independent dealers and installers who want to grow their business should give membership in PARA a look.”
