Las Vegas — Panasonic signed a deal with e-commerce solution provider Shopatron allowing it to assign Panasonic.com orders to local retailers for shipment and in-store pickup.
According to a statement, the move is expected to help Panasonic to provide faster delivery to consumers and to strengthen its relationships with retailers.
“Panasonic is proud to be the first major consumer electronics manufacturer to employ this innovative approach to e-commerce,” said Jeremy Dalnes, e-business VP for Panasonic North America. “We’re in a win-win situation with Shopatron, giving consumers more choice in terms of purchasing products, and increasing in-store sales for our retailers. We are thrilled to have found a solution that will increase sales of Panasonic products without channel conflict.”
Panasonic is expected to launch the Shopatron referral program this summer.
