One Million iMacs To Be Given Away In Offering By ISP

Apple is neither condemning nor endorsing a plan announced today by FreeMac.com to give away 1 million iMacs in exchange for a three-year ISP deal and a Visa credit card from First USA.

FreeMac.com, a Santa Monica, Calif.-based start-up, reported it would start giving away the multi-hued computers in September. The user must qualify for the First USA Visa card and use it to pay the $19.95 per month Internet charge to ISP Earthlink.

Jonathan Strum, FreeMac.com founder and CEO, said the credit card will help differentiate this ISP deal from the others now on the market. Apple will supply the computers, he added.

Apple did not wish to comment on the plan.
