Olympus’ Muller Joins Philips N.A. As President

Atlanta — Reinier Jens, president of Philips Consumer Electronics, North America, is leaving the operation and will be replaced by Stewart Muller, executive VP of Olympus Imaging America.

Jens will become the new head of region Europe, effective Aug. 1. Reinier, who has a 21-year career with Philips, is credited with “Philips Consumer Electronics growing success in North America,” said a prepared statement on the management shift.

Muller joins Philips on June 12 and has a significant track record in key leadership positions at both Olympus and Apple Computer, according to a Philips statement.

Jens became president of Philips Consumer Electronics, North America, in January 2004. He replaced Larry Blanford, a former Maytag executive who joined the company in 2001 as a turnaround specialist, a company spokesperson said at the time.
