TWICE has named Doug Olenick senior editor of the Computer Technologies section, and Will Safer has been named editor of the paper's web site,
Olenick replaces Jim Willcox, who has been named director of editorial for a music-based Internet site. Willcox, who has been with TWICE since 1990 and headed its computer coverage since 1993, will continue with the paper as a contributing editor.
Olenick will be responsible for heading TWICE's computer coverage, working with senior editor Amy Gilroy.
Prior to joining TWICE, Olenick was senior editor with Computer Retail Week, heading its home solutions section. Before that he was section editor of HFD's consumer electronics section.
Will Safer joins TWICE from Wideband magazine, where he wrote on such topics as video, digital imaging, computer accessories and retailing.
As TWICE's web editor, Safer will be the primary reporter for daily updates on the site. He will also contribute to the print edition. Safer's post is a new one with the publication.
