Office Depot Opens Online Wireless Store

Boca Raton, Fla. – Office Depot has launched a new online wireless store.

The cybershop, located at wireless.officedepot.com/mobile/, marks the No. 2 office supply chain’s second stab at a centralized wireless store after abandoning an earlier effort several years ago.

The new microsite is operated and fulfilled by Simplexity, which also provides customized turnkey cellular storefronts for Dell, Kmart, Overstock.com, RadioShack, Sears, Target and TigerDirect.

Simplexity also operates its own consumer shopping site for mobile products and services, Wirefly.com, and offers mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) services.

The new Office Depot store has greater functionality than the earlier incarnation, a Simplexity spokesperson told TWICE, and features hundreds of pre- and postpaid mobile phones from a host of manufacturers on the Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone 8 platforms for U.S. carriers Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless.

“We are very excited to team with Office Depot to deliver our fully customizable solution for selling and activating wireless devices and service plans online,” said Simplexity senior business development VP Jeff Baskin, who described the new store’s assortment of products and services as “comprehensive and affordable.”

Simplexity said its customized e-commerce portals provide a seamless shopping experience for its retail partners’ customers, who can shop for products and service plans, compare phones, and check their upgrade eligibility.
