Nvidia Unveils Tegra Note 7 LTE Tablet

Santa Clara, Calif. — Nvidia unveiled Friday the Tegra Note 7 LTE tablet that adds a 4G LTE cellular connectivity, via the company’s i500 LTE modem, to what it called “the world’s fastest 7-inch Android tablet.”

The LTE-enabled version of the Tegra Note 7, which joins the currently available Wi-Fi version, includes a Tegra 4 processor, a stylus, built-in audio system, Android 4.4.2 platform and Nvidia gaming. It will ship next quarter at a $299 suggested retail, Nvidia said.

The company is adding to the tablet fast mobile data. Developed to support “popular carriers around the world,” the Tegra Note 7 will be available with LTE and HSPA+ mobile connectivity.

Specifically named U.S. carriers include AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile in the U.S. and O2, Vodafone and Orange in Europe.

Nvidia said the rest of the Tegra Note 7 line is also receiving an over-the-air update, including an upgrade to Android 4.4.2, and support for Gamepad Mapper.

Gamepad Mapper was first developed for Nvidia’s Shield portable gaming player and turns touch-based Android games into ones that can be played with physical Bluetooth controllers.
