NPD Adds Appliance Tracking Service

Port Washington, N.Y. – The NPD
Group has launched a new consumer tracking service for the appliance industry.

The latest tracker, which surveys
consumers from NPD’s online panel of nearly 2 million participants, offers
comprehensive market research on consumer behavior and attitudes, and can
provide an accurate, detailed view of the major and small home appliance
markets, the research firm said.

As with NPD’s just-announced

, the new appliance tracker features improved survey and
sampling methodology with increased transaction counts, and total market size
estimates aligned with NPD’s point-of-sale data.

The appliance tracker also
encompasses such new categories as home health care and dehumidifiers, and
offers new services and measures including draw/close rates and enhanced
purchase motivators.
