Nokia Adds First Quad-Core Lumia For Verizon

San Diego – Verizon Wireless will offer its first Nokia Lumia Windows 8 smartphone with quad-core CPU , and the carrier will offer it on an exclusive basis.

The global-ready Lumia Icon with 2.2GHz quad-core processor will be available starting Feb. 20 in Verizon stores, Verizon’s online store, and indirect channels for $199 with new two-year contract. In Verizon stores, it’s also eligible for the Verizon Edge upgrade program.

The Icon is already available for preorder at Microsoft retail stores and will hit store shelves and the Microsoft online store Feb. 20. Customers who purchase a Lumia Icon before March 16 from Microsoft get a free Nokia wireless charging accessory valued between $49 and $69.

 Key features include 5-inch FullHD display, viewing angle of almost 180 degrees, 2,420 mAh battery, wireless charging, and Nokia ClearBlack technology to let users see pictures and emails in direct sunlight.

 Other features include 20-megapixel PureView camera with Zeiss optics, FullHD video capture, optical image stabilization (OIS), and four mics to record stereo and surround sound and reduce background noise

The Creative Studio app lets users personalize photos by doing such things as adding focus blur and color effects and creating collages to share.
