Nikon Goes Live At MTV Movie Awards

Melville, N.Y. –

Nikon

said
Friday it will use social networking, celebrity interaction with its new
cameras and live online photo and video images to support its official camera
sponsorship of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards this Sunday.

In total, Nikon will showcase the event through exclusive
pre-show, red carpet and online content taken with its cameras.

Celebrities and award nominees can capture their experiences
through two standalone multimedia booths, powered by Nikon digital cameras,
revealing the most memorable style and stardom moments live from the red carpet,
Nikon said.

The online showcases will feature “iCarly” actress Miranda
Cosgrove giving viewers behind-the-scenes access to the event via her Coolpix
S8000, as she prepares for her presenting debut at the Awards ceremony, which
starts at 9 p.m. June 6.

The sponsorship includes three 30-second television segments,
scheduled to air on June 5 and June 6, in which Cosgrove meets up with MTV News
to give the inside scoop on her debut at the MTV Movie Awards.

Nikon will present images taken live at the event on its

Facebook Fan Page

, which will be
turned into an exclusive showcase of the awards with celebrity and nominee
shoutouts.

Two multimedia stations located at the center of the red carpet
will feature Nikon D90 digital SLR cameras for attendees to showcase their
creativity and personalities by taking a still photo or recording an HD-video
shout out to the fans at home.

Images and videos will be unveiled throughout the broadcast on the
Nikon Facebook page along with Cosgrove’s full report on the Nikon Digital
Flipbook on MTV.com, offering viewers at home the opportunity to follow the
action.
