Nikon Gets The Red Out With Pixology

New York – Software maker Pixology and Nikon have teamed to offer Pixology’s automatic red-eye removal system as a standard offering in its bundled camera software.

Nikon will be the first digital camera manufacturer to have the software.

Pixology’s IRISS (Intelligent Red-eye Imaging Software Solution) One-Click and Auto-Fix will be integrated within Nikon’s new bundled software program, Nikon View 6 which is shipping with the company’s newest Coolpix cameras (the 2100, 3100 and SQ) available in March.

IRISS will enable Nikon customers to significantly reduce most red-eyes from their digital pictures with either the fully automatic mode or the semi-automatic One-Click feature.

‘Industry figures put the red-eye problem as high as 30 percent of images captured in winter time,’ said Yuval Yashiv, Chief Executive, Pixology. ‘It is even worse in digital cameras compared to the larger film cameras, and therefore it reduces the propensity to print or share pictures.’
