Newhall Leaves Sound United

Baltimore – Ben Newhall, Sound United’s chief sales officer, left the company, and Sound United has begun a search for a replacement, confirmed CMO Blair Tripodi.

The Sound United division of Directed, created early in 2013, is responsible for Polk, Definitive Technology, and Boom Movement products.

Newhall was a Polk veteran of about 30 years before he was promoted to Sound United chief sales officer.

Newhall left to pursue other opportunities,” said Tripodi. “We wish him the best.”

Separately, Sound United in recent weeks created the new position strategic accounts VP to manage sales to key accounts, mainly Best Buy but also other retailers such as Target. The company appointed Scott Hagen, who was sales and strategic planning VP at Zoom North America and former Best Buy director of merchant operations for the chain’s home business group.

Zoom produces audio recording devices as well as multi-effects processors, effects pedals, drum machines and samplers.
