New York — A pair of digital imaging programs were released recently, aimed at unleashing the mass market consumer’s inner Martha Stewart.
DigiGear introduced the EZ3D Photo Print program for turning digital images into 3D photo prints. The $29.99 software lets users outline portions of a digital photo with a rendering tool. The outlined section of the image will appear three dimensional when printed and viewed behind the included EZ3D Photo frame.
The software will be bundled with a single EZ3D frame, a 4-inch by 6-inch landscape lens (which is inserted into the frame to view the photo in 3D), and a 6 by 4-ich portrait lens.
DigiGear will see refill kits with two landscape lens, two portrait lenses and four EZ3d frames for a suggested $24.99.
Imaging software developer ACD Systems announced a new version of its Photo Editor program, an imaging suite for mainstream consumers.
The new version offers creativity tools for making items such as scrapbook pages, CD covers, and photo invitations. For beginners, the program offers “guided walk-throughs” of its creative projects.
Photo Editor can display up to eight different previews of a photo on screen to preview the effects of various photo filters. Filters can be applied through a batch-process feature, which can also apply logos, clipart or other effects to multiple images with one mouse click.
The program will retail for a suggested $69.99.
