New JVC 12V Viral Video

Los Angeles — JVC Mobile is reprising its car stereo viral video of last year that won 5 million views, with a new “Turn Me On 2” video and campaign that launched May 11.

JVC Mobile will show a one-minute “sizzle clip” from the video on the high definition billboard in Times Square at the end of May and launch the full video version on Spin magazine’s Web site.

This year, the viral video will be backed by an extensive campaign that includes print ads, online banner ads, radio promotions and a summer partnership with the 2009 Crüe Fest 2 tour, said the company.

Last year, JVC Mobile revamped its marketing strategy by devoting most of its marketing budget to a viral video that won wide attention on thousands of websites, it claimed. This year’s “Turn Me On 2” is a larger production with a crew of over 60 people, JVC Mobile said.

“We experienced significant sales growth from last year’s ‘Turn Me On’ video exposure and we anticipate even bigger results from this year’s campaign,” said JVC Mobile VP Bill Turner.

Along with girls, rock and roll and cars, the video on Spin.com, shows an iPhone delivering music to car AV receivers. Featured receivers are the El Kameleon KD-AVX77 and KW-AVX720, and featured navigation systems are the KW-NT1 and KW-NX7000BT. The video stars rock bands the Charm City Devils, who are featured on the Crüe Fest Tour this summer, and the Darling Stilettos.
