Mahwah, N.J. — Sharp will air a new broadcast TV commercial on May 19 as part of its ongoing brand advertising campaign, the company said.
The spot, which highlights “the true-life picture quality” of Sharp Aquos LCD TVs, is said to be a continuation of the large-scale initiative that began last year featuring commercials during the Major League Baseball season.
The spots are intended to help Sharp emphasize “its position as an LCD leader and official HDTV sponsor of MLB.”
The new ads will put increased focus on picture detail, Sharp said, and were created by Lowe of the Interpublic Group. It portrays the message that a Sharp TV provides the ultimate ticket to a baseball fan so the viewer has the best seat in the house for the game, the company said.
An Aquos TV in the spot shows action-filled scenes from different MLB teams and an excited fan experiencing the game as if he were there at the stadium.
The 30-second spot will run on major national broadcast networks including Fox, NBC, ABC and CBS as well as major networks such as ESPN, AE, Discovery, USA, TBS and CNN.
A print and online component will roll out at the same time in support of the Sharp MLB sponsorship.
