Netgear Intros Latest RangeMax Router

NetGear launched its latest RangeMax Wireless N router that is based on Linux’s open-source software.

The RangeMax Wireless-N Gigabit Router with USB (WNR3500L) is being targeted at developers and enthusiasts. The router supports several free open-source firmware applications, including DD-WRT, OpenWRT and Tomato, and additional titles can be downloaded at www.myopenrouter.com, the company said.

Basic features include a 480Mhz MIPS 74k processor core, 8MB of flash memory and 64MB or RAM. There are three internal antennas that deliver data at 350MBps.

The router will become available this fall with a $139 suggested retail.
