Netgear Expands NAS, HD Streaming Lines

San Jose, Calif. – Netgear today released a new family of home
servers and a 3D wireless networking kit.

The new Netgear ReadyNAS Ultra and Ultra Plus series of home
media servers/network-attached storage drives ship later this month.

The three-SKU Ultra Plus models offer a 30 percent performance
improvement over the Ultra models and can be used to increase the storage
capacity of a TiVo DVR, the company said. The Ultra Plus additions include
empty two-bay, four-bay and six-bay versions with respective pricing of $449,
$699 and $999.

The Ultra family also has three new models. The entry-level model
comes with two empty bays for $399, the others are pre-equipped either with a
single 2TB drive or two 2TB drives for $549 and $699.

The Netgear 3DHD Wireless Home Networking kit can stream multiple
1080p video streams through homes as large as 5,000 square feet, the company
said. This is done by using four transmitters and four receivers built into
each wireless adapter.

The kit ships in mid-November with a $259 suggested retail. Each
kit comes with two adapters with additional adapters available for $129.
