Chatsworth, Calif. – Long-time Panasonic executive Andrew Nelkin was
named president of sister company

Sanyo
North America’s

consumer solutions division replacing Isaac Levy, effective
April 1, Sanyo said Tuesday.

In heading the consumer solutions division, Nelkin will direct
the marketing of digital projectors, home appliances, video security equipment
and consumer batteries and battery-related products.

Nelkin was most recently president of Panasonic Professional
Display since its establishment in May 2007. He has served in the consumer
electronics industry for more than 25 years, handling digital displays, HDTV,
audio, imaging and emerging digital products along the way.

In his new role, Nelkin will help drive development and
implementation of an integrated brand strategy across the division’s product
lines, the company said.

“I am confident that Andy, in partnership with the strong
marketing leaders at each of our product lines, will position Sanyo to capture
greater market share in the consumer electronics industry,” said Sam Murata,
Sanyo North America president. “Andy’s dedication and long term experience in
consumer electronics makes him well suited to provide future growth and strong
leadership for the division.”

“This position allows me a chance to utilize my strength in this
industry and build on the success I have developed over the past two decades in
consumer electronics. I look forward to working to build a stronger Sanyo by
continuing to develop our core strengths,” Nelkin said in a statement.

Levy, who was a longtime employee off and on with Sanyo and the
former Sanyo Fisher, held the position of Sanyo North America consumer
solutions division president for the past year.
