Chicago — NEC has introduced five new displays that should be available to retailers in time for most of the holiday selling season.
Shipping in December is the three-unit GX series containing the MultiSync 70GX, 90GX and 20WGX. These will be preceded by the MultiSync 1740CX-BK and the 1940CX-BK, which started shipping this week.
The 20-inch 20WGX20, pricing to be announced, includes an integrated TV tuner, 1,600:1 contrast ratio and a 6-millisecond screen response time.
The 17-inch 70GX and 19-inch 90GX feature a 4-millisecond screen response time and 700:1 contrast ratios and are being targeted at the gamer market. Suggested retail prices are $369 and $499, after $30 mail-in rebate, respectively.
Shipping this week are the MultiSync 1740CX-BK and the 1940CX-BK. NEC labeled these as general purpose monitors. They began shipping this week with suggested retail prices of $299 and $399, respectively.
