Neat Receipts Bows Business Card Scanner

Philadelphia — NeatReceipts has launched Neat Business Cards, a portable scanner and software database designed to allow users to scan and organize their business cards.

The scanner can scan directly to Microsoft Outlook contact files.

The company also said it has a partnership with Sage Software, the manufacturer of ACT! contact and customer management solution software, making it possible for the first time for ACT! users to scan business card data directly into the software from an outside device. As an introductory offer, the companies are offering a limited time discounted bundle of ACT! by Sage 2007 and the Neat Business Cards.

In addition to the direct-scan options, the company said that scanned cards can be exported from the Neat Business Cards database to vCard, csv or Plaxo format.

The product is said to weigh less than 4 ounces and offer color, grayscale or BW CIS scanning on an area measuring 2.2 inches by 4 inches. The company said it can scan approximately four business cards per minute.

The scanner runs off either a USB 1.1 or 2.0 connection. It offers a maximum resolution of 600 dpi, and the images can be saved in a variety of formats including JPEG and BMP.

The Neat Business Cards scanner is available now at a suggested retail of $199.
