Chicago – Navigon
introduced a lower-priced navigation app for the iPhone with the launch of
, which at an introductory price of $24.99 accesses maps for a
single region of the U.S. Consumers purchase access to additional maps from the
iPhone for an introductory $12.99.
Prices rise April
12 to $29.99 and $14.99, respectively. Three regional maps are available for
the Eastern, Central and Western U.S.
The MyRegion price
compares with $79.99 for Navigon’s MobileNavigator app, which accesses maps for
the entire U.S.
The full slate of U.S.
maps also comes with MyRegion, but the MyRegion price includes access to maps
of only one region, with access to the other regions enabled after paying for
them.
The company will
display its navigation apps for smartphones at CTIA Wireless 2010 in Las Vegas.
