Nationwide Details Biz. Conference

Winston-Salem, N.C. – Nationwide
Marketing Group has released more details about its upcoming Business and
Leadership Management Conference.

The event, slated for
April 3-5 at the American Airlines Conference Center in Fort Worth, Texas, is
the buying group’s first freestanding forum to address succession and business-management
issues.

“No other organization in
our industry is offering this kind of educational opportunity for independent
dealers,” said Nationwide president Robert Weisner, who has assumed the
additional title of CEO. “Statistics have shown that only a small percentage of
these businesses succeed into the second and third generation. However, with
proper succession planning and business education, our dealers can beat those
odds.”

Weisner said the conference

will teach the basics of running all aspects of a business, will show top-line
managers how to assume a leadership role in the company, and will use interactive
presentations and real-life exercises to demonstrate how to correctly mentor
employees.

Some 100 dealers have
signed up for the program since its announcement last month at the group’s
PrimeTime! convention. Said Nationwide member services director Elly Valas, “This
demonstrates that there is a clear need for this type of education and that it
is key for the continued success of the independent dealer.”

All conference courses will
be taught by industry experts including finance consultant Sandy Cloud, who
will conduct a half-day financial management workshop. In addition, Steve
Bryant, principal of The Bryant Group, Nationwide’s video and advertising production
house, will run the group’s OpTEAMization leadership and management program.

Other topics will include
advertising, merchandising, web marketing and customer service.

“We are pleased to be
giving our members the help they need in training their managers and successor
candidates,” said Valas. “Additional sessions will be scheduled later this
year so that all of our members will have an opportunity to attend and properly
advance their companies into the new marketplace.”
