Naranjo Joins Coby Electronics

Lake Success, N.Y. – Longtime video display industry veteran
David Naranjo has joined

Coby Electronics

as
TV/video national marketing manager.

Naranjo, who last led
product management for Panasonic Avionics, returns to the consumer electronics
space, reporting directly to another distinguished industry vet, Jodi Sally,
Coby marketing VP.

“David’s strong drive combined with his deep expertise both in
product development and marketing will serve Coby well into the future,” said
Sally.  “Despite the challenging market,
Coby has maintained a solid position in the category, and the addition of David
to our team will help ensure the company’s continued growth in the TV arena.”

Prior to joining Panasonic Avionics, Naranjo was a product
development and marketing director for Mitsuishi Digital Electric America,
where he developed the company’s LCD TV category and Connected TV services.

In his tenure with Mitsubishi, Naranjo worked closely with
content providers and helped establish Mitsubishi as a leader in 3DTV.

Naranjo will help to build Coby’s growing LCD TV product
business, which has ranked in the top 10 for unit sales in the 2D LCD space,
according to The NPD Group’s Retail Tracking Service for the 12 months ending
February 2012.

As national marketing manager, Naranjo will lead product
development for the TV and video category.

 “Coby’s expansion in the
TV category has been considerable, and I’m excited by the opportunity to apply
my experience in this area to help bring the company to an even greater level
of success in the years to come,” said Naranjo.

Prior to joining Mitsubishi, Naranjo worked as an analyst for
DisplaySearch.

He also served for 10 years with Panasonic AVC Networks Company
of America as senior manager of product planning and marketing, helping to
develop the company’s first HDTV set-top box and widescreen projection TV
category.

Naranjo earned a BS in electrical engineering from Manhattan
College in Riverdale, N.Y., and holds a MBA from the Keller Graduate School of
Management in San Diego.
