Music Group To Add CE Retailers To Distribution

Seattle — Pro-audio supplier Music Group has created a consumer division led by Dan Roe to expand distribution into CE channels.

The company’s brands include Behringer, Turbosound, Midas, Klark Teknik and Bugera.

Music Group will make its pro-audio products, previously available only through musical instruments dealers, available to CE retailers, said Roe, the division’s business development VP. The division will also develop “more traditional CE product types” for the CE channel, and the products will be “made with that pro flavor,” he said.

A Behringer-brand docking speaker was launched last year for CE channels, but Roe noted that “with this new focus, we are serious about the category of CE now and are in it with both feet.”

The Music Group brands offer products for professional and project recording studios, video and broadcast suites, post-production facilities, sound-reinforcement applications such as stadiums, nightclubs, retail locations and music concert tours.

To the CE channel, Music Group will bring home speakers, computer speakers, and Bluetooth speakers. In DJ products, the company will bring headphones, speakers, controllers, mixers, and microphones. In the PA market, the company will bring speakers, mixers, and microphones. And in music instruments, it will bring digital drum kits and keyboards/controllers, Rose said.

Roe was formerly with CE-audio startup Nyne. Before that, he was a 20-year Sony veteran whose titles included national sales manager and regional sales VP.
