For its largest product launch ever, multiroom-audio plays a prominent role.
None new products also include its first two AVRs equipped with Dolby Atmos, HDCP 2.2, HDMI 2.0a, and DTS:X upgradability.
For multiroom applications, the company is also launching new line of compact multizone amplifiers, all packing more power in a smaller chassis than previous models, and multizone amplifiers/matrix switchers.
The new Architect P series of multizone amps consists of the Architect 16×100-watt P2660; 16×100-watt P2680 EQ, which adds five EQ bands per zone; the 12×100-watt P2280; and 12×100-watt P2280 EQ, which adds five EQ bands per zone. Both fit into a 2U chassis. Outputs are rated into 8 ohms RMS with all channels driven, but the amps deliver 200 watts per channel into 4 ohms, and adjoining channels can be bridged to output more than a combined 350 watts.
Also new is the Architect P800 8×100- watt amp in a stackable 1U chassis. It delivers more than 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 200 watts per channel into 4 ohms, RMS with all channels driven.
All of the amps feature LightDrive anti-clipping protection, input bussing capability, bus input pass-through, master 12v trigger in/out, local 12v trigger inputs on all zones, signal-sensing turn on, and digital inputs on all channel for digital sources.
The P series ships either in the fourth or first quarters.
In multizone amp/matrix switchers, the company is launching two models to join the company’s first model, the M6400 in a 2U chassis.
The Director M6800 Matrix Amplifier is said to be one of the highest power 16-channel matrix amps on the market at 16×100 watts into 8 ohms. The other mew model is the 8×100-watt Director M4800. They come in 2U and 1U chassis, respectively. Both route any input to any output, and both deliver 200 watts per channel at 4 ohms with bridged output at 400 watts per channel at 8 ohms.
The M6800 allows any of eight analog or two digital inputs to be routed to any zone output, and it features two digital outputs. The M4800 switches among four pairs of stereo analog inputs and four digital inputs (both optical and coax for each zone). It also has two digital outputs, assignable from any input.
Each matrix amp features onboard DSP, graphic and parametric equalization by zone, network monitoring and programming, channel/zone grouping and zone audio presets. They also allow individual channel and zone selection via standard TCP/IP. Both integrate with home-automation systems.
