More Retailers Offering Direct Cam-Phone Printing

New Orleans — Sprint and Fujifilm announced the addition of new regional retailers offering photo fulfillment for Sprint’s Picture Mail cellular imaging service, expanding the infrastructure that allows PCS camera phone users to send images directly from their camera phones to retail for printing.

The new additions, all Fujifilm customers, include ShopRite, Longs Drugs, Fred Meyer, Kings Soopers and BiMart and brings the total number of Sprint Picture Mail fulfillers to nearly 2,700, the two companies said. The retailers join Ritz Camera and its Wolf subsidiary, and Sam’s Club, which already offers the service.

After snapping a image, users search for retailers by ZIP code and can determine the order quantity and print size.

According to Sprint, PCS customers have sent more than 300 million picture and video messages over its network.
