Moore To Join EA Sports

Redwood City, Calif. – Peter Moore, former Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Division Interactive Entertainment corporate VP, will become the new president of Electronic Arts’ EA Sports Label in September, reporting to EA CEO John Riccitiello.

In his role at Microsoft, Moore led the Xbox and Games for Windows businesses.

Moore’s appointment rounds out the leadership of John Riccitiello’s recent reorganization of EA into four autonomous labels.

Frank Gibeau serves as president of the EA Games Label; Kathy Vrabeck is president of EA Casual Entertainment; and Nancy Smith is president of The Sims Label.

“Peter Moore’s proven record of leadership in games and sports makes him a terrific fit for heading up EA Sports,” stated Riccitiello. “As a partner at Microsoft and earlier, as a competitor, we’ve learned to respect his vision and leadership.”

Quickly reacting to the announcement, Jack Tretton, Sony Computer Entertainment America president/CEO, issued a statement welcoming Moore to his new post.

“We wish Peter the best of luck in his new role at Electronic Arts and look forward to working with him. We have an outstanding relationship with EA and their sports products have been incredibly successful on all our platforms. I am sure this will continue with Peter now at the helm,” Tretton said.
