Monster Updates M Series Cable Line

Monster Cable is bringing to Denver what it calls an “evolutionary redesign and update” of its high-end M Series of audio, video and speaker cables.

The new M Series family has been organized into three distinct performance levels (1000, 850 and 650), with each level offering additional performance and updated technologies. The series also sports a new look, including new HexMesh and outer cable jacket colors, as well as all new connector designs.

Additionally, M Series products now come in “jewelry-style” box packaging that showcases the appearance and design of the new cables, the company said.

“It took hundreds of hours of critical reevaluation and experimentation with engineering refinements before we could identify changes that would truly add value to our M Series cables,” said Noel Lee, head Monster. “We also took into account current and future digital format and HDTV needs when determining which new cables to add and update.”

The line will include three HDMI iterations.

The high-end M1000HD HDMI supports Blu-Ray and HD-DVD players and other high-performance products offering HD video resolutions up to 1,080p. Cables range in price from $150 to $350.

The step-down M850HD HDMI is a high-performance, high-resolution digital video and multi–channel audio cable that ranges in price from $100 to $200

The M650HD HDMI is the digital video and multi-channel audio cable that offers the company’s most affordable access to M Series performance. It ranges in price from $80 to $150.

At the top end of the company’s analog video cables, the M1000cv is an advanced M Series high-definition component video cable with extra-wide bandwidth that features silver-coated conductors and nitrogen gas-injected dielectric. They range in price from $100 to $250. A step down in price is the M850cv, a high-definition component video cable designed to deliver progressive-scan picture quality They range in price from $80 to $150.

The M650cv is a component video cable offering low-loss HD video, priced from $60 to $120. And the M650r is a composite video cable offering low-capacitance design, nitrogen gas-injected dielectric and pure copper conductors for improved color, clarity and definition, the company said. Prices are from $30 to $50.

All M Series component video and HDMI cables are ISF Certified.

On the audio side, the M1000DFO is a digital fiber optic/Toslink cable for improved surround sound performance. The M1000DFO was engineered to reduce jitter and maintain digital signal fidelity and features proprietary Monster technologies such as graded index fiber, hand-polished terminations and spring loaded connectors, The cable range in price from $80 to $150.

The M1000DCX is a digital coaxial S/PDIF cable with polished silver-coated center conductors, nitrogen gas-injected dielectric, heavy-duty double shielding and 24k gold contact turbine connectors. They range in price from $80 to $100.

Other cables in the M Series include subwoofer interconnect cables and speaker cables.
