Brisbane, Calif. — Monster announced on Tuesday it has joined DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group.

DEG is non-profit, industry-funded corporation designed to advocate and promote the benefits associated with DVD and to serve as a forum for member companies to engage in ongoing discussions.

In a release put out by Monster, Amy Jo Smith, executive director of DEG, said, “Monster Cable is a key partner in the home entertainment space, and has been a major proponent in educating consumers and the trade about the many benefits of digital entertainment, as well as the sometimes complicated issues involved. The company’s products and ongoing communications efforts continue to shine a light on the lifestyle advantages of high definition. We are delighted Monster has joined the DEG and look forward to having its participation as part of the continuing DEG dialogue.”

“Monster is pleased to become a part of this prestigious group,” said head monster Noel Lee in a statement. “We find the forum that DEG provides is crucial for the vitality, growth and evolution of digital entertainment.”

The DEG is comprised of regular and associate members. Monster has joined as a regular member.
