Monster Adds DNA Pro Wireless Headphones

LAS VEGAS — Monster is expanding its portfolio at this year’s International CES, with product introductions in several categories.

All eyes are expected to be on the headphones category, as has been custom ever since the manufacturer partnered (and since split) with Beats Electronics. As this went to press, Monster said it would launch at least one new headphone, an addition to its DNA line.

The Bluetooth DNA Pro Wireless over-ear headphones feature active noise cancellation and touch-activated controls on the ear cup. They have embedded AAC and AptX codecs and USB digital audio, Monster said.

They’re scheduled to ship in the second quarter for a $399 suggested retail.

Monster is also announcing new mounts during CES this week. Three lines will be unveiled — Premium, Elite and Desktop — all meant to have slim designs and easy installation.

The Premium line consists of 10 models that can support up to 130 pounds and screens ranging from 10 inches to 84 inches. Adjustable tilt range is 0 to 12 degrees. Pricing starts at $39.95.

The Elite line consists of seven models that can support screens from 10 to 100 inches and up to 150 pounds. Pricing starts at $69.95. The articulating model extends from 1.9 to 19.1 inches from the wall, and the mounts provide up to 15 degrees tilt and 90 degrees swivel when extended.

Finally, the MDAS1 Desktop model has an all-aluminum arm available in red, sliver or gray/white. These mounts can support flat-panel displays measuring 10 to 32 inches and weighing up to 20 pounds. Additional arms can support up to four monitors.

The mounts have a tilt range of 130 degrees, a pan range of 180 degrees and 360-degree rotation. Pricing starts at $129.
