LAS VEGAS — Mizco International wrapped up a busy International CES with the expansion of its Tough Tested brand of mobile accessories geared toward professional drivers and distributed through truck stops nationwide.
Products in the line are designed with input from professional drivers to meet their exacting usage requirements and needs, the company said.
Additions to the line include an extension of the Tough Tested smartphone case series and the first products in a newly developed Tough Tested cable and USB portable power series.
Available for first-quarter delivery, at a suggested retail of $19.99, the Tough Tested 3.1-amp dual USB power extender features an 8-foot, heavy-gauge coiled cord that allows a driver to safely plug in USB devices without having to reach over to the dash or look away from the road, Mizco said. The extra-long cord also extends the reach of USB power to the back of the truck cab. Heavy-duty CLA insertion tabs keep the extender plugged in even when tension is applied to the cord, and lighted USB ports are included for easier use in a dark cab.
The extender allows simultaneous charging of a tablet and a smartphone, and includes a vehicle-mounting disc system. The USB extender is finished with a heat-retardant, rubberized tactile coating, the company said.
New Tough Tested premium-grade cables have been added to the line for use with the USB extender. The Premium Braided and Premium Coiled cables are 6 feet long, heavy-duty and tangle free, and have gold tips for optimal connectivity. They are available with MiniUSB, MicroUSB, 30-pin Apple and 3.5mm auxiliary audio connectors.
Tough Tested also added three new smartphone cases. All are made of rugged and durable padded canvas, in an extra-large size to accommodate most smartphones on the market with 4-inch or larger screen.
The XL smartphone cases feature a reinforced rotating belt clip and strong magnetic closures, and are available in black or hunting camouflage print, Mizco said.
The Tough Tested Dual Layer protective case offers a case-within-a-case design, available in Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy models. The cases feature reinforced bumper corners for added drop protection, a textured surface for grip and feel, and raised edges Mizco Grows Tough Tested Trucker Line (continued from page 8) for added screen protection.
The Rugged Inside and Out case bundle features a dual-layer protective phone case with a matched, fitted holster case, available for iPhone and Galaxy models.
“Every [Tough Tested] product continues to be tested to stand up to the tough duty that professional drivers subject their equipment to every day of their working lives,” according to Tom Buske, national account manager. “Truckers use products differently than most everyday consumers, so we take this into consideration with the design of our Tough Tested products. Everything from weather and temperature, smashes, dropped devices, and exposure to a generally tough and challenging work environment have been taken into account with the designs.”
The new products are rolling out to truck stops across America this month, joining Tough Tested’s lineup of Bluetooth headsets, such as the 737 and H1 ProBoom, and Pro Chargers power devices.
