Microsoft Announces Promotions

Redmond, Wash. – Microsoft
announced several promotions on Friday, including Kurt DelBene to president of
the Microsoft office division.

DelBene has been with
the company for 18 years, Microsoft said, most recently leading the engineering
and development teams for the business division. As president, he assumes
responsibility for the Microsoft Office division, including both the
engineering and marketing functions for clients, servers and services for
information workers.

 Andy Lees was promoted to president of the
mobile communications business, while Don Mattrick was promoted to president of
the interactive entertainment business.

Lees will continue to
oversee the overall marketing and product development for Microsoft’s mobility
efforts.

Mattrick, who joined
Microsoft in 2007, will continue to oversee businesses and services focused on
consumer entertainment, including Xbox 360, Xbox Live Kinect, Zune Music and
Video, and Mediaroom, as well as PC and mobile interactive entertainment.
