Microsoft Adding Two Stores

Redmond, Wash. – Microsoft
is opening its 10

th

store this Friday in Atlanta and will open an 11

th

location next month in Houston.

The Atlanta store is in
the Lenox Square Mall, where the 2011 “American
Idol” winner and top two finalists will perform on Saturday. The first
150 visitors to the store will receive two VIP tickets to the performance and
one pass to meet the performers. Additional general-admission tickets, along
with give-aways and gift bags, will be handed out while supplies last,
Microsoft said.

The Houston store is
slated to open June 23 in the Houston Galleria, where tickets will be given
away for a grand opening concert two days later by singer Kelly Clarkson, according
to a company posting on Facebook.

Microsoft opened its
first retail store in Scottsdale, Ariz., in 2009 and has since expanded to
California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota and Washington. The interactive
stores sell software, PCs, Xbox consoles and Windows 7 mobile phones, and provide
invaluable end-user feedback to designers, developers and Microsoft resellers,

COO
Kevin Turner

said last year, prompting plans to add dozens of new
locations.
