Micro Center Signs The Warranty Group

COLUMBUS, OHIO – Micro Center, the 23-store IT and CE specialty chain, has signed a multiyear agreement with The Warranty Group providing its customers extended coverage under its national protection plan program.

Under the agreement, The Warranty Group will offer Micro Center customers warranty programs and customized services across a broad range of products through its brick-and-mortar showrooms.

The firm provides underwriting services through its wholly owned subsidiary, Virginia Surety, as well as regulatory, marketing and custom-tailored administrative services.

“Partnering with The Warranty Group was an easy decision for us,” stated Micro Center service director Eric Schneider. “The Warranty Group provides the experience, expertise and consumer focus we are looking to provide to our customers. In addition, the full range of products and services they offer will help Micro Center acquire new customers, strengthen our existing relationships, and improve our overall brand experience.”

Added The Warranty group senior VP Justin Thomas, “We’re delighted to welcome Micro Center to The Warranty Group family of national retail clients. This partnership represents a natural alignment between two organizations focused on providing best in class product protection programs to consumers in a customer friendly way.”

Micro Center, a subsidiary of Micro Electronics, ranked 13th on TWICE’s Top 100 CE Retailers Report, with more than $2 billion in CE sales in 2012.

The Warranty Group, now in its 50th year, provides underwriting and administrative services to CE, furniture and automobile manufacturers, distributors and dealers in more than 30 countries.

The Micro Center pact follows last fall’s renewal of a decades-long partnership with NEW, the industry’s largest extended service plan provider. “We value NEW’s long-standing partnership with The Warranty Group and Virginia Surety,” said Jason Martin, NEW’s risk and underwriting VP. “They have been a valued and trusted partner, offering coverage options for our programs that benefit our clients and their customers.”
