MESA Gets New Executive Director, Vendors

DENVER — Mobile Electronics Specialists
of America (MESA) has appointed
a new executive director and added
more vendor partners.

The new executive director is Ryan
Gunter, a 20-year CE industry veteran,
who was most recently with Sirius XM
as western region director.

“With Ryan’s experience in sales,
marketing and his relationships with
vendors and retailers, we are confi dent
of the continued growth and success of
this group,” MESA said.

Gunter can be reached at rgunter@
mespecialists.com.

Meantime, MESA expanded its roster
of vendor partners to more than a dozen
with the addition of AAMP of America
and PAC as iPod-integration and OEMintegration
partners, respectively.

Other vendors partnered with the
fledgling group are Alpine, ATrend,
Directed Electronics, Hertz/Audison,
HushMat, Ixos, JL Audio, Kenwood,
Metra and Rockford Fosgate.

MESA, owned by independent 12-volt
dealers, was founded in November 2009
as a marketing and selling group that
pools members’ expertise to create
marketing materials. The group also
obtains training, marketing and promotion
commitments from vendor members,
with dealer members stepping up
their commitment to vendor partners.

MESA is offering members fully produced
TV commercials and radio ads at
costs they couldn’t individually afford,
the group said. MESA also provides
members with group VIR programs, or
pre-planned product buys with pre-produced
marketing materials to support
sell-through of the items. Members also
get opportunities to buy vendor-partner
overstocks and closeouts.

Members are spread out in non-overlapping
markets so that vendors can
move products in a way that doesn’t
affect dealers across the entire nation,
MESA said.
