MERA Names Education Chairperson

North Andover,
Mass. – The Mobile Electronics Retailers Association (

MERA

) elected South Florida retailer Mike
Dixon as chairperson of its newly formed education committee and selected Kris
Bulla and Paul Pirro as co-chairs.

The new education committee
includes 20 retailers, expeditors, rep firms, distributors and manufacturers,
MERA said.

 The committee’s tasks include development of
education programs for October’s

KnowledgeFest

in Dallas as well as the launch of the association’s first online dealer-education
programs and educational webinars, slated to launch soon, executive director
Chris Cook told TWICE. The committee also plans MERA’s regional educational
events.

Dixon operates
retail store Audio Logic. Bulla works for InstallerNet and is chairperson of
the Consumer Electronics Association’s

MECP

(Mobile Electronics
Certified Professional) certification-program committee. Pirro is MERA’s member
services manager.

Speaking to
October’s KnowledgeFest, Cooke said, “With more than 20 educational workshops,
leading manufacture exhibits, product and business strategy planning and the
latest technology on display, KnowledgeFest 2010 is the right place at the
right time for turning knowledge into know-how to grow your business.”
