MERA Launches Its  1st Consumer Web Site

Indianapolis — The Mobile Enhancement Retailers Association (MERA) launched its first consumer Web site, located on MySpace.com, to answer questions about car audio.

“There are a lot of sites where people can ask questions but 80 percent of the time they get answers from other amateurs,” said MERA president Barry Vogel, explaining that the site at www.myspace.com/meraqa will be hosted by MERA members and professional installers.  A group of volunteers will take turns manning the site, he said, adding that the MERAQA Web site will also refer consumers to MERA members in their communities.

“We’re now using the media that our consumers are using and it’s going to present a bigger value for MERA to the retailer because MERA, for the first time, will be in front of consumers,” Vogel said.

MERA also recently announced new members of the board including Matt Fulton of Breakers Stereo, John Ivey of MiTek, Mike Michne of Precision Mobile Audio and Steve Witt of Alpine.
