Megatronix Highlights Vehicle Security At CES

Megatronix, a manufacturer of two-way paging auto and motorcycle alarms, among other car electronics products, is showing its line during International CES at booth 400 in the North Hall.

The company, which markets its line under the Megalarm, Viking and Megapage brands, will show the UP 220, which interfaces with a vehicle’s factory keyless entry system to upgrade it to a full programmable security system while still utilizing the OEM remotes.

The parking-light learn routine cuts install time by learning factory parking-light sequence between flashes during remote lock and unlock cycle without having to run wires to the door lock motors, the company said.

The MEGA 2700 is a four-channel two-way security system with remote start that includes a new four-button two-way LCD transceiver and an ultra-mini four-button one-way transmitter with a SAW resonator for added range, the company said.

Features include audio, visual and vibrating confirmation on two-way transceiver; dual immobilization; vehicle locator; remote starting vehicle from long range; tachometer, voltage and oil sense; turbo time; three 24-hour auto start timers for five-, 10-, 20- or 30-minute runtime; driver paging; and two extra programmable channels, three and four.

Megatronix will also be introducing at CES the MEGA 160, which is an ultra-mini, waterproof, do-it-yourself, one-piece motorcycle alarm with ignition kill. It comes with two three-button random code transmitters, built-in siren with shock sensor and horn output. Features include remote panic, remote shock-sensor adjustment, silent arm/disarm, arm with delete shock sensor, and parking-light and starter kill output. This universal easy installation system is for motorcycles, ATVs, dirt bikes and golf carts, Megatronix said.

Suggested retail pricing for these product and shipment dates were not available at press time.
