McLoughlin Named Electrolux COO

Stockholm, Sweden – Keith McLoughlin, who headed Electrolux’s
appliance operations in North America as president/CEO for the past five years,
has been appointed COO of the global majap maker, reporting to president/CEO
Hans Stråberg.

McLoughlin will be succeeded in the U.S. by Kevin Scott, formerly
VP/general manager of the company’s refrigeration business.

In his new role, McLoughlin will oversee a new business unit
responsible for global purchasing, manufacturing, and research and development.
The move is intended to take “full advantage” of the manufacturer’s “global
reach and economies of scale,” the company said.

McLoughlin, a corporate executive VP, will remain a member of Electrolux’s
group management team.

“After having successfully executed our strategy to lower our
cost base and invest heavily in product and brand, we are now taking the next
step to fully realize synergies between business sectors in product development,
manufacturing and purchasing,” StrÃ¥berg said in a statement. “I’m glad that
Keith McLoughlin has agreed to take on this task, where I see great
opportunities to reduce costs, save capital, sell more innovative products, and
achieve higher speed to market.”

His successor, Scott, joined Electrolux in 2003 as VP/general
manager of the consumer services group for major appliances in North America,
and transitioned in 2006 to the refrigeration post, where he was responsible
for the integration of the company’s largest refrigerator factory in Mexico and was instrumental in the launch of the
Electrolux brand in North America.

In his new role as president/CEO of major appliances North America, Scott will also be appointed an executive VP
of the parent company and become a member of the group management team, reporting
to chief executive Stråberg.

The changes become effective Aug. 4.
