Newton, Iowa – Maytag Services, the repair arm of major appliance manufacturer Maytag, said it has expanded its scope to include in-home service of all other major appliance brands.
Traditionally, the service division supported only the Maytag Appliances business and company brands. With today’s announcement, the new company plans to support all major brands in select markets, including a new agreement with Samsung Electronics America, a leading consumer electronics and microwave oven manufacturer, which also carries refrigerators and air conditioners.
The agreement authorizes Maytag Services as a service center for warranty and out-of-warranty service on Samsung appliances. As the new company grows, Maytag Services will seek other clients and comprehensive service support relationships.
Ralph Hake, Maytag chairman/CEO said in a prepared statement, ‘Service is a significant growth opportunity for the company and the establishment of Maytag Services is expected to move the organizational mission from being solely a provider for Maytag Appliances to that of a growth-oriented services business.’
Maytag’s change in its service operation is based on the recommendations of a special team, which studied the industry situation and opportunities during the past year. The team found that conveniently scheduled, quality all-brand service by Maytag would be of value to consumers seeking in-home appliance repair, improving the quality of the consumer service experience.
