Markwalter Gets CEA Promotion

Arlington, Va. – Brian Markwalter has advanced research and
standards senior VP for the

Consumer Electronics
Association

(CEA).

Markwalter will oversee CEA’s Technology & Standards program,
which hosts more than 70 groups that produce standards used in millions of
consumer devices and are referenced by EPA, FCC and other government agencies.

Markwalter also directs CEA’s market research department. 

Markwalter began his career with CEA in 1993 as a staff engineer.
He left in 1996 to work as program management director for Intellon before
returning to CEA in 2002 to become the director of CEA’s Technology &
Standards department.

He was promoted to vice president in 2005 and in 2010 assumed
leadership for CEA’s market research department.

Markwalter serves on several boards, including the Advanced
Television Systems Committee, Global Inventures and the Smart Grid
Interoperability Panel, in addition to his work with the FCC’s Technological
Advisory Committee and Video Programming Accessibility Advisory Committee.
Markwalter holds five patents and is a licensed professional engineer.
