Marantz Begins Blu-ray Player Rebate Program

Mahwah, N.J. – Marantz
America
launched Thursday a holiday rebate promotion supporting two of its
Blu-ray Disc players. Called “Get some green by going Blu,” the program offers
$100 on the purchase of its BD7004 ($800 suggested retail) and BD5004 ($550
suggested retail) Blu-ray models.

The mail-in rebate applies only to authorized Marantz dealers in
the U.S. and runs between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31.

Kevin Zarow, Marantz marketing and product development VP, said:
“With advanced audio and video reproduction capabilities, Blu-ray players are
fast becoming essential for people who want to enjoy the very best in home
entertainment. This holiday season, many people will be looking to upgrade
their home theaters with state-of-the-art Blu-ray players. Our BD7004 and
BD5004 multimedia Blu-ray players already offer one of the industry’s best
values in true high-performance, high-definition audio and video, and with our
$100 rebate offer, they present an unmatched price/performance proposition.”

Both feature HDMI 1.3a outputs and include 36-bit deep color and
HD audio bit stream support. Both models include Anchor Bay VRS Technology
video scalers for up-converting and enhancing standard-definition DVD sources
to HD formats including 1080p.

Both players
accept Blu-ray Discs, DVDs (including DVD-R/RW rewritable formats) and CDs.
Both also accept SD, SDHC, and mini and MicroSD memory cards.

In addition, the BD7004 handles DivX and AVCHD files, and
includes internal decoding for both Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, and
video scaling by Anchor Bay.

Both also handle disc-based DivX files in addition to AVCHD  contained on discs or solid-state memory
devices.

IR flasher inputs and outputs on both players add system-wide
control capabilities, and included Ethernet ports are added to bring future
functionality through firmware updates, Marantz said.
