Logitech Unveils diNovo Keyboard For Macs

Fremont, Calif. — Logitech today announced the Mac edition of the diNovo Edge.

The company said it is the first diNovo keyboard specially designed for the Mac.

Measuring 0.5 inches thick, the diNovo features a high-gloss, semi-translucent Plexiglas frame, sharp angles, soft-orange backlighting and an aluminum palm rest with anodized-silver finish. The company’s PerfectStroke key system is engineered to create longer key travel than that of typical notebook computers. The diNovo has a key travel of 3.2 mm vs. 2.2 mm for a typical notebook computer. This means that the distance a user’s fingers have to travel to activate a key is optimized for comfort, Logitech said.

Other features include optimized Mac keys for one-touch access to Mail, Safari and iTunes, as well as other Mac-specific applications. A power button turns the user’s Mac computer on and off, and its TouchDisc is meant to enables scrolling and navigating from the keyboard.

The keyboard comes with a charger base, with a reported four-hour charge that provides up to one month of battery life. A 10-minute power charge provides one day of use, according to the company.

Bluetooth technology is used, enabling the keyboard to have a 30-foot range.

Scheduled to be available this month, the diNovo Mac edition has a $159 suggested retail.
