Las Vegas — Rockford’s Lightning Audio brand will go to International CES to launch 11 new car audio speakers, which consist of two- and three-way full-range speakers and two-way component speakers.
The speakers, on display at the Palms Casino Resort, feature shallower baskets so that installers use them as direct drop-in replacements in many factory locations, a spokesperson said. The two new component speakers feature reduced retail price points at $99 per pair, compared with previous prices of $129 and $149 per pair, to make upgrading more attainable to consumers, she added.
The products are also said to combine performance with affordability and are priced from an everyday $49 to $99 per pair.
The line consists of “numerous models and sizes in order to fit the needs of just about any consumer in the market looking improve their in-car audio performance,” said Al Congdon, Lightning Audio director. They drop into the factory speaker location in most vehicles, he said.
All feature 18AWG stamped steel frames, light weight and efficient mica-injected polypropylene cones, 0.5-inch balanced dome Mylar tweeters, and grilles and mounting hardware for select models.
