LG, T-Mobile Team Up

San Diego – LG will begin selling
cellphones through carrier T-Mobile USA for the first time.

The match up will be complete
when the nation’s fourth largest carrier begins offering a trio of LG handsets during
the summer on an exclusive basis.

The phone maker already sells
through the nation’s top three carriers by subscriber base.

Two of the models are 3G phones.
They are the full-touch Sentio and the dLite flip phone, both featuring T-Mobile’s
Social Buzz application to provide quick access to social-networking sites. The
app gives users the option of separately viewing each social-network interface
or viewing a screen that aggregates messages from all of the user’s
social-network sites. The app also delivers pop-up notifications of
social-network updates to the phone’s home screen.

The Sentio’s scrolling 3-inch
touchscreen features virtual QWERTY keyboard, ability to customize the home
screen with widgets, GPS with location-based services, a 3-megapixel camera
with video playback, MP3 player and Visual Voicemail.

The LG dLite clamshell features
hidden LED matrix on the outside to display icons for alerts, caller ID, and
time and date with customizable edge-lit LED colors and patterns. Like the
Sentio, it supports personal email and Visual Voicemail. Its main display is
2.8-inches. The phone will be available in Bubblegum and Electric Blue colors.

The third phone is the LG GS170,
also a clamshell. It’s not a 3G phone, but it offers one-touch speakerphone,
large keys, color display, VGA camera, MP3 ringtone capability, Bluetooth 2.1,
and text/picture messaging and email support.

Prices weren’t disclosed. LG said
the devices would be available through T-Mobile stores, the carrier’s Web site
and indirect retailers.
