LG Mobile Launches Cloud-Storage Promo

San Diego – LG Mobile launched a
promotion that offers 50GB of free lifetime Cloud-based storage to back up and
share content stored on LG’s Android smartphones and tablets.

LG owners who sign up between Nov. 30 and March 31, 2012, for a Cloud-storage
account from Palo Alto-based Cloud service Box will get lifetime use of 50GB of
storage capacity to store documents, photos, and unprotected music and videos,
Box said.

The Box Android app needed for the service requires
phones with minimum 320 by 480 display and Android 2.1 OS and up.

Box’s backup app is available not
just for Android devices but also for the iPad, iPhone, TouchPad and PlayBook,
enabling users of those devices to access a user’s Cloud-stored documents if
given permission. Content can also be accessed via PCs and Macs.

Normally, Box offers consumers
free personal accounts with 5GB of storage, $9.99/month for 25GB, and
$19.99/month for 50GB.

Businesses are charged $15/user
per month, and accounts for large enterprises are customized by enterprise.
