Lenovo Appoints Sr. VP/Pres. Of Americas Group

Research Triangle Park, N.C. — Lenovo today announced the appointment of Scott DiValerio as senior VP and president of its Americas group. His new position will take effect Dec. 3.

DiValerio will report directly to William Amelio and be responsible for the company’s sales organization across the Americas.

DiValerio replaces Rory Read, who served as acting president of the Americas group since January 2007, and will continue with the company in his current position as global operations senior VP.

DiValerio was most recently corporate VP at the original equipment manufacturing division at Microsoft, where he was responsible for Microsoft’s relationships worldwide with makers of personal computers and other devices, multinational and regional OEMs and embedded systems manufacturers. Prior to that, DiValerio was Microsoft’s corporate VP of finance and administration and chief accounting officer, responsible for worldwide management and external financial reporting, financial systems, and corporate accounting.

“One of our key strategies is to grow our business in the Americas, and Scott has a wide range of business experience and is well-suited to the task.” said Amelio. “Scott is a great addition to the Lenovo management team, and I expect that he will hit the ground running.”
