Legrand Acquires Multiroom-Audio Supplier NuVo

West Hartford, Conn. – Home automation supplier Legrand acquired multiroom-audio company NuVo as part of its continuing plan to acquire companies whose products complements its own, the company announced.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Legrand concentrates on the low-voltage entertainment, security, lighting, communication, and automation solutions for residential markets. Its other residential brands include OnQ, Vantage, and Biticino.

 Hebron, Ky.-based NuVo will continue to operate as an independent business within Legrand’s Home Systems division and focus on home audio markets under the NuVo brand name.

“The addition of NuVo’s high quality multi-room audio systems strengthens Legrand’s significant audio offering across all of its professional channels,” the company said. With the acquisition, NuVo’s leadership will remain in place, and NuVo employees will have “a wider choice of global career opportunities,” the company added.

The acquisition “provides us with a leading position in the whole home audio market,” said John Selldorff, president/CEO of Legrand North America. “We are now able to overtake other industry players and rapidly bring affordable, easy-to-integrate audio solutions to market.” Those systems include systems that are “intuitive, plug ‘n play and user friendly” The acquisition also adds NuVo’s wireless audio distribution technology to Legrand’s portfolio. “This means we can provide consumers with better integrated home audio systems and wider choices of both wired and wireless products,” he said.
